Tamarack Cellars Merlot 2006

Tamarack Cellars makes quite a few single varietals, several blends, and does really good things with Washington state varietals. Good stuff, and we have the Merlot.

Wine Spectator, July 31, 2008. "Displays dark, tarry accents to the black cherry fruit, finishing with a light grip of tannins. Firm. Best from 2009 through 2012. 1,456 cases made. –HS"

Wine Advocate, June 2008. "The 2006 Merlot, does a fine job of expressing the grape from which it was made. It is a forward, friendly wine meant for near-term drinking."

Wine & Spirits "Ron Coleman's Merlot's are always generously ripe. This one has a cinnamon stick spiciness that adds depth and savor to the sweet fruit. The aromas are autumnal, with the smoky scent of pine, and it's ripe black cherry flavor gains shape and contour from the fine nutskin tannins. For chicken mole."
